Colon Cancer Awareness Month & Hemorrhoids
With “Colon Cancer Awareness Month” in full swing, I am sure you are all dealing with a rush of new patients seeking screening colonoscopies. Undoubtedly, a number of these patients will be scheduling appointments because of their worrisome rectal bleeding – bleeding that is often attributed to hemorrhoids and fissures.
Once a diagnosis of hemorrhoids is confirmed, the use of the CRH O’Regan System and our treatment protocols will go a long way towards keeping your patients happy and healthy moving forward! Communicating the procedure to your patients
One of the most commonly asked questions we receive is “how do I communicate this procedure to patients”? Many GI practices have not historically treated hemorrhoids and patients have stopped asking about treatment options after hearing of the poor outcomes or complications associated with other techniques. It’s important to bring up how easy, safe, effective and painless the CRH O’Regan System is and we have a few tools to help you with this.
Patient Discussion Flip Chart – Our latest educational tool was created based on feedback from all of you. This is a great resource either for a clinical staff member, or a physician to walk the patient through the procedure. You can also leave them in your waiting room or exam rooms for the patients to review on their own.
Patient Education Video – A 2 minute video designed to explain the procedure to your hemorrhoid patients concisely and efficiently. Posting this video on your website is a great idea and if you would like to have it available at your practice, I can send you the file or a DVD.
Mouse Pad (pictured below) – A great “cheat sheet” if you are on the phone with a patient as it lists 7 of the most important facts about the procedure.
